Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia - Ivonne Acero - A well
established Artist in the Dallas Area, has extended experience in the use of many art forms as a healing tools, and as expressive mediums.
She started her training with an A.A. in Textile Design and a
B. A, in Fashion Merchandising from Florida International University: “For 15 years my line of work was Fashion Design and Forecasting, until I decided to make my creativity more valuable and meaningful. Something more congruent with my on-going healing and personal growth Quest".
"I am a Domestic Violence survivor ... a successful survivor with a great deal of healing work under my wing”. Ten years ago. “I discovered, I was not only a victim but an aggressor too. Violence is a cycle. So my years of constant therapy and healing where not over yet. I found in Art the balance between being able to create, express, and heal”.
Certified as an Art therapy therapist, Mrs. Acero has Facilitated workshops with the “Frame Project” (Dallas non-profit ), La Reunion TX (Dallas non-profit), and founded “The Creative Power”. Apprentice of Stuart Cobley’s -”The Painting Experience”. Graduated from INSIGHT seminars (4th level-Facilitator’s level), and has completed many workshops on creative & artistic subjects. As far as her Art work, she still produces her conceptual pieces to express her voice for the right cause.
